TSWS began December 6th, 1999 with a simple email from co-creator John (aka. Teshik) to his cousin and other co-creator Andy (aka. Bubba). With just 6 hours of non-stop work all night, the original TSWS site was built and the system immediately became active. Thanks to the enthuasiam of early members, news travelled quickly of the fun, laid-back atmosphere provided by TSWS. The membership grew to around 50 members during this period. After many revisions and revamps, the final product of today's TSWS emerged in the form of a mainly d8 system with easy rules but a foundation in realism. Please join us and become a valuable member of our circle. Not only will you have a great time role-playing in the Star Wars Galaxy, you will meet some great people and become a part of a great group of friends.

Good News Everyone!

Some new stuff has just come out of the GM Booth for all of you to enjoy!

First off, the exp you receive for submitting Hunt Summaries on the message board has been TRIPLED! Additionally, we'd like to make it clear that anyone and everyone involved in a particular event can report on that event.

Second, Soft Role-Play EXP is now the same as Event EXP, 4 per hour! Hooray!!! Soft is handled the same way as usual, the GM or senior-most player present will call IC. When the soft is finished, the GM or senior-most player remaining will submit a report to the TSWS master email account with the exact start and end times, who was present and for how long, and a little bit about what was done.

Third, we are increasing starting EXP for incoming new players, seeing as how we're pretty far along in our time line. I realize that many of you will argue that time is not made of lines, but rather circles. All non-elders will receive a bonus with this same amount, and all elders will receive half this amount. Several of the GMs and elders are going to donate their received bonus to an EXP pool which will be awarded during an Olympic Games hunt series. More details on that will come as time draws nigh.

Fourth, a final and ultimate Total EXP cap is going to be put into effect, to prevent god-characters. Total EXP is the EXP value of all your stats and skills. This cap will be set at 8000 EXP. This is enough to get one or two stats up to level 8 and a couple skills as well.

Cancellation and Sabbatical

I regret to announce that tonight's session is being canceled.

Lately as a GameMaster I have felt very unappreciated and disrespected. GameMasters seem to be viewed as nothing more than players' personal combat generators, there to crank out combat and exp for people to get bigger, badder and better. Plots have been unappreciated and uncared for with little to no reaction from players in session, like role playing has been tossed out the window. This has made me doubt my abilities as a GameMaster and as a writer and as such the past several session have not been enjoyable for me. If a hobby is not fun, it's not worth doing. As a result I feel the need to take a step back and take a short break from hosting and role playing in general.
